LIVE PEABODY an Age Friendly City 2023

This information is being shared in honor International Day for Older Persons Month. The Peabody TRIAD Council consists of Seniors and Law Enforcement working together to develop and implement policies and programs to reduce criminal victimization, promote crime prevention and safety awareness, and serve the needs of the senior community in Peabody. In addition, the Council designs and supports programs to improve the quality of life for our senior citizens. The Peabody TRIAD Council believes they have the ability to make a difference in our community and are dedicated to serving our city and its residents.

The Cafe Will be Serving Breakfast After the Holidays | New 'TO GO' Station

Due to all the upcoming events taking place at the Senior Center, we felt it best to wait to begin serving breakfast after the holidays. I know it’s disappointing, but it is something to look forward to! However, we do have some good news to share with you! You can now purchase a 12oz. Bowl of Soup ‘TO GO’ with a beverage for only $6.00. See the new “To Go” station outside the café to place any ‘TO GO’ orders! Our November Special will be The Rachel! (Sister of the Reuben) It is a Grilled Turkey Sandwich, with Coleslaw, Swiss Cheese and Thousand Island Dressing on Marble Rye. Yum! We will also be offering a Harvest Salad as well. Greens, Pears, Dried Cranberries, Goat Cheese and Pecans with Maple Balsamic Dressing. There is always something good cooking at our Café!

RECRUITING VOLUNTEERS IN ESSEX COUNTY FOR AARP TAX AIDE SERVICES

Seeking Tax Aide Volunteers

We are recruiting volunteers in Essex County for AARP Tax Aide services, providing free tax preparation for people with low to moderate income to help them become more financially secure. We need tax preparers, who will be trained and supported, as well as others who can provide clerical, communication and technology assistance. All levels and types of experience are welcome. 2023 TRIAD Outreach Event Schedule - Fraud & Scams, Fire Prevention & Safety

The Peabody TRIAD Council meets once a month and works diligently to present their programs to all Peabody seniors and to develop & implement programs which enrich and protect the day-to-day living of all the seniors in our community. These programs are currently being presented at various venues, including Senior Housing.





TRIAD events have been held at the following sites for information and distribution of TRIAD materials.

Speakers from Peabody Fire, Peabody Police and Atlantic Ambulance to discuss Fraud and Scams | Fire Prevention and Safety

All meetings were from 10:30am - 12:00pm and took place in the community room. Lunch was served at 11:30 and emergency personnel was be made available for questions.

Friends Cafe Grand Opening

Friends Café in the Peter A. Torigian Senior Center at the Peabody Council on Aging. We are so excited to open this special cafe to (60+) senior citizens! We are currently open Monday thru Friday for lunch only (to those 60 and over) between 11:30am and 1:00pm, closing at 1:30pm. We look forward to having you and to serving the amazing seniors in our community.
