We say it every week: Try to keep adding more movement each day. But why? Exercise has benefits to stop cardiovascular disease, manage diabetes and weight, and boost your mood for just a few reasons. Exercise also has been shown to help manage your Parkinson's symptoms. Move every day!


We appreciate the support that has been coming in to help us continue providing the exercise, movement, and strength-building classes, as well as educational and care partner resources that we have offered for over 12 years through Parkinson's Fitness. In-Person Workshop: Tuesday, October 21st and Tuesday, October 28th from 6pm-8pm: Parkinson's Good Start Program

The Good Start Program is a two part series presented by a team of Parkinson’s disease specialists from Boston University and Boston University Medical Center. Participants will receive up-to-date information on diagnosis and treatment, as well as community resources to assist in PD management. There is no cost for this program, which is open to individuals diagnosed with Parkinson's three or fewer years ago, along with a care partner or family member. Article: Scientists May Have Found Way to Prevent Constipation in Parkinson’s

Interactions between receptors for ghrelin, the so-called hunger hormone, and the chemical signaling molecule dopamine may go awry in Parkinson’s disease, potentially leading to chronic constipation — a symptom that the Australian scientists behind this new research called “debilitating” for many people with the condition.
